This page contains photos of a January 26, 2008 hike to the Pic du Cap Roux in the Esterel. Though a very easy and short climb (around one hour from the parking lot when one doesn't run and spends a bit of time taking pictures), the Pic du Cap Roux offers what is undoubtedly the best view over the Mediterranean from any of the Esterel peaks. One literally has the entire coastline at one's feet. On the Saturday Vicki and I made our way up, the weather was spectacular and the air crisp and clean. A few clouds in the distance would have been great for the photos, but we're not complaining! On a previous visit, I got soaked on the way down.
