Plaça de Catalunya in the heart of Barcelona |

On Friday, February 27, 2015, we drove to Barcelona for a long weekend. This is a very manageable trip: the distance is roughly 640 kilometers, or just under 400 miles, and it's all highway. We had booked accommodations near the Plaça de Catalunya. Unerringly, we drove right up to the hotel (thanks, GPS!), parked the car in the garage and did not touch it again until we left Barcelona the following Monday morning. In the short time we were there, we traveled essentially by sightseeing bus; our two-day passes allowed us to hop on and off these buses wherever we pleased. We made extensive use of this to see the sights we wanted. In addition, we covered some 31 kilometers on foot. The photos on this page are not presented in chronological order; rather, they roughly follow the red and blue bus routes, respectively. All pictures are geo-tagged; with a suitable EXIF reader you can find out where and when a photo was taken. Have fun visiting Barcelona with us!
