Moses Cone Manor overlooking Bass Lake |
Five years ago, we drove to Blowing Rock with David and Amelia to admire the fall colors. During that trip the weather was not fantastic; on the other hand, the fog and overcast skies lent a nice and moody atmosphere to the photos. This time, the weather was perfect with blue skies and sun; we got to Blowing Rock in time for lunch on October 21, 2020. Later that day, David and Amelia joined us with our grandsons Michael and Nicholas. The next day, the whole family took a stroll around beautiful Bass Lake; later, we had a picnic lunch in Blowing Rock. If you're' wondering why the older page has so many more photos, the answer is simple: grandchildren. I took a fair number shots of the boys, but those are for family pages.
The following morning, we spent some time by Price Lake and along the Blue Ridge Parkway before heading back to Chapel Hill. The woods are truly spectacular in North Carolina at this time of the year. I hope that the images on this page can convey some of that.
