I began this collection in April 2003 when I purchased my first Apple Cinema display, the 20" (plastic frame) model. My main motivation was that at the time, desktop photos in the appropriate dimensions were hard to find. Since then, I purchased a 23" Cinema display, and the family acquired a number of new Macs with various screen dimensions. Finally, most of the photos were downloaded quite frequently, so the idea to make them available in other screen resolutions was natural.
Volumes 1 and 2 of my desktop images are available in resolutions of 1280x800 for the MacBooks, 1440x900 for the 15" MacBook Pro as well as the 17" iMac, 1680x1050 for the Apple 20" Cinema Display and the 17" MacBook Pro, and 1920x1200 for the 24" iMac and the 23" Cinema Display. Because the first two volumes contain images made with a 3-megapixel Olympus Camedia 3040Z, the resolution of the original photos is insufficient to provide the 2560x1600 size needed for the 30" Cinema Display. Starting with this volume, that screen size is supported as well.
To download a photo, simply click the desired size below the caption. This will download a zipped version to your computer. I am obviously not zipping the photos to save space; the idea is to force the browser to download the file rather than display it. Though I retain all rights to all images, you are free to use any of these photos for non-commercial purposes. Enjoy the pictures in good health, and feel free to send me your comments.
