In the years we have lived in the South of France, we have taken many trips to Monaco; after all, by car we can reach the principality in a mere 45 minutes. For some reason, though, images of Monaco have never made it onto our web site. It's high time we remedied this omission! On Saturday, June 24, 2006, David and Daniel spent a good portion of the day walking through Monaco. Since we had not brought the Nikon along, we had to rely on our tiny Canon SD600; this is why the images on this page have a width to height ratio of 4:3 as opposed to the usual 3:2 seen on our site.
Monaco consists of six neighborhoods ("quartiers"), but we limited our visit to Monte Carlo (home of the casino), La Condamine (the area around the main harbor), and Monaco-Ville (the top of the hill where the palace is located). From the hill, one has an excellent view of all of Monaco, and in particular of Fontvieille and its harbor, located west of the palace. Check out the Visit Monaco web site for more information on this fascinating place.
