I had a meeting in Cannes today; since I don’t drive there often on weekday mornings, I didn’t know what to expect in terms of rush hour traffic, so I left myself plenty of time. I set off at five minutes to eight and decided to take the scenic route via Vallauris, driving across the hill between the the two towns on the D803 (called Avenue de Cannes in Vallauris and Avenue de Vallauris in Cannes... go figure). There was no traffic at all, and 25 minutes after leaving home, I pulled into the parking garage at the Cannes station. Minutes later, at 8:31, I was walking on the Croisette enjoying the view.
