As those who know me are aware, I’m not exactly opposed to a good glass of wine, but I do not touch cheese, ever. I’ve got a food allergy that prevents me from eating fermented cheese (though I’m fine with other dairy products such as milk, yoghurts, and even sweet cheeses); I intensely dislike not only the flavor but also the smell of cheese, and to be around a bubbling pot of fondue or a raclette grill is enough to make me gag. This is not as bad as it sounds; it doesn’t bear thinking about what a misery my life would have been had I been allergic to strawberries or chocolate... But even I have to admit that this display of the Ceneri Wine and Cheese Shop in the Rue Meynadier in Cannes is beautiful, and there is more selection than in this classic cheese shop.
